An international team of scientists has mapped the genome of saola, aka 'Asian unicorn', for the first time. The researchers analysed remains collected from hunters' homes and were able to generate complete genomes for 26 individuals, providing insights into its history and future prospects. The last sighting of saola was in 2013 and it's not known whether it is extinct.
