The global sell-off in semiconductor stock led to a massive crash, wiping out over $500 billion in market value. The sell-off affected both Wall Street and Asia simultaneously, as investors cashed in their profits amid concerns of over-stretched valuations. While South Korea's KOSPI index fell over 6%, the world's largest contract chip manufacturer in Taiwan also witnessed 3% decline.
