Iran has rejected US claim that it attempted to kill Israeli ambassador in Mexico, describing the accusation as "ridiculous" and "absurd". Iran Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stated that it was an attempt to "destroy Iran's friendly relations with other countries". Israel's foreign ministry had thanked Mexican authorities "for thwarting a terrorist network directed by Iran".
