Supreme Court took suo motu cognisance of road accident in Rajasthan's Phalodi that killed 15 people. Court observed, "People have set up dhabas (eateries) along highways in places not designated for this purpose...People park their...vehicles on road and go to dhabas...This causes accidents." It directed NHAI to submit report explaining how dhabas operate in areas not notified as facility zones.
