Adidas executives visited an indigenous town in Mexico to offer an apology over a sandal-inspired shoe design. The sandal, Oaxaca Slip-On, was inspired by traditional leather sandals, huaraches, made by Mexico's native artisans and was criticised over cultural appropriation. Adidas would in future seek collaboration with the community to ensure respect for its cultural heritage, an executive said.
