Congress leader Santosh Lad said Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy's decision to not participate in Karnataka's caste survey is her choice. "As a government, we cannot force anyone to participate," he said. Sudha Murthy and her husband and Infosys founder Narayan Murthy said they don't belong to any backward caste and, therefore, their participation in survey wouldn't be benefit government.
