Government is allowing private-sector professionals to apply for leadership roles in public-sector banks including Managing Director position at SBI, a first in Indian banking history, NDTV Profit reported. Applicants with at least 21 years of professional experience and a minimum of 15 years in banking are eligible. This aims to bring transparency and merit-based selection in leadership roles.
