IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, who shot himself dead at his residence in Chandigarh on Tuesday, suffered a head injury, SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said. She added that the forensics team has reached the spot for inspection and that the body has been taken to the mortuary. The police were informed about the shooting at around 1.30 pm, she said.
