Two persons, M Jamal and Sahil Ashraf Ali Shaikh, drowned in the backwaters of Bhushi Dam in Lonavala, Pune district. Both natives of Uttar Pradesh, they were working in Pimpri Chinchwad and had gone for a picnic. According to an official, "The duo went to the backwaters of the dam where the safety wire was broken...They got trapped in the current and drowned."
