CBI has taken over investigation of stampede in Tamil Nadu's Karur during which 41 people were killed. The stampede happened during TVK chief Vijay's rally on September 27. Supreme Court (SC) handed over the case to CBI on a petition filed by TVK which sought independent probe. The court has set up a three-member supervisory committee to monitor CBI's investigation.
