Vijay Mallya acquired properties worth ₹330 crore in England and France during 2015-16 before he fled to the UK, the CBI said. Mallya acquired the properties while his Kingfisher Airlines was facing a cash crunch and banks could not recover the loans defaulted by him, it said. CBI is investigating the IDBI Bank-Kingfisher Airlines loan fraud of over ₹900 crore.
