A court recently sentenced a 42-year-old Mumbai man to 20 years' prison for sexually assaulting his 8-year-old neighbour under pretext of playing with her in 2020. He threatened to slap her with chappal if she disclosed it. She, however, confided in a friend about the "game". Her mother, after noticing changes in behaviour, inquired and came to know about it.
