Switzerland on Sunday rejected a proposal to impose a 50% tax on the inherited wealth of 50 million Swiss francs (around ₹554 crore) or more. The proposal, which aimed to use the revenue to combat climate change, received 78% votes against it. Wealthy residents had reportedly threatened to leave the nation over the issue.
