Bengaluru Police arrested 21 people for running a fake Microsoft technical support racket and scamming US citizens. The accused occupied a 4,500 sqft plot to run the scam centre and used phoney security alerts and fabricated Federal Trade Commission warnings to pressure victims into paying large sums in cryptocurrency. Police seized laptops, hard drives, mobile phones, and other digital equipment.
