BJP MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy sparked outrage after claiming that bad roads reduce accidents. Referring to Monday's Telangana bus crash that killed 19 people and injured over 30, he said the previous BRS government built "good and sharp" roads. "If roads are bad...vehicles move slowly...so accidents are fewer...The better the roads, the bigger and more frequent the accidents," Reddy stated.
