The Rajasthan High Court instructed the state government to remove 1,102 liquor outlets located within 500 metres of highways within two months. The court criticised the government for turning highways into "liquor-friendly corridors" in view of the rising number of road accidents. Additionally, no hoardings or advertisements relating to liquor or liquor shops should be visible from the highways.
