North Korea's status as a nuclear weapons state is "permanently enshrined" in its law and "irreversible", the country's UN mission said in a statement. Calling US' demand for its denuclearisation a "provocative act", it added that the country firmly rejects any attempt to alter its current status and stated that nuclear weapons are an "inevitable option" for its defence.
