Senior BJP leader and ex-Ladakh MP Jamyang Tsering Namgyal expressed sorrow after four people were killed in police firing during protests for statehood in Ladakh's capital, Leh. In a letter to L-G Kavinder Gupta, he said, "The crisis could have been handled with greater patience...The firing on unarmed protestors has shaken public trust." He called for an impartial judicial inquiry.
