Volkswagen's India unit has sued Indian officials to quash an "impossibly enormous" tax demand of $1.4 billion, Reuters reported citing court papers. Last year, India accused the German carmaker of "wilfully" paying lesser import tax on components for its Audi, VW and Skoda cars. However, the company claimed the tax demand contradicts the government's import taxation rules.
