Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar refused to answer personal questions, including details of the jewellery he owns, during the state's caste survey. After declining, Shivakumar stated, "I've told officials not to ask people in Bengaluru about how many chickens, sheep and goats people are rearing and how much gold they have...they are personal matters." Caste survey began on September 22.
