US President Donald Trump hosted Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa at the White House on Monday in a historic meeting. Ahmed al-Sharaa, a former Al Qaeda commander who was earlier sanctioned by US as a foreign terrorist, became the first Syrian President to visit US. Calling Al-Sharaa a "strong leader", Trump said, "We'll do everything we can to make Syria successful."
