NASA's satellite images reveal an extraordinary transformation in the Sahara Desert, where heavy rainfall has turned the typically arid yellow landscape into green patches. By late September, parts of the desert will have received five times their usual rainfall. An extratropical cyclone caused rains, filling normally dry lakes, with vegetation and water, as captured by NASA Earth Observatory.
