Rohit Arya, the man who took 17 children and two adults hostage at a studio in Mumbai's Powai, wanted to speak with the former Maharashtra School Education Minister, Deepak Kesarkar, over unpaid dues. However, Kesarkar reportedly refused to talk to him when contacted by a DCP-rank officer. "I did not realise the matter would become so serious," Kesarkar said.
