Why does blood pressure rise in winter and how can it be prevented?
short by Anmol Sharma / on 26 Oct 2025,Sunday
Studies show both systolic and diastolic blood pressure rise in winter due to cold temperatures, reduced activity and hormonal changes involving noradrenaline, catecholamine and vasopressin. Lower vitamin D levels and higher cholesterol also contribute to it. Keeping warm, maintaining indoor heating, eating healthy, exercising regularly and monitoring blood pressure often can help prevent it.
