A group of Dalit faculty members in key administrative posts in Bengaluru University wrote to the Vice-Chancellor alleging caste-based discrimination in appointments to statutory positions and denial of service-related benefits. In the letter, they said they are being given only "supervisory" roles without adequate authority. They threatened to quit if their demands were not met within a week.
