Around 100 buffaloes died on Monday after a mass drowning in Namibia's Chobe River following a stampede triggered by lions, confirmed Namibia's Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism. The stampede occurred after lions chased a herd of buffalo from the Botswana side of the river. The buffaloes fell from a deep cliff into river, with some tumbling over each other.
