Syria held its first parliamentary polls since fall of ex-President Bashar al-Assad in December 2024. The elections, conducted under a transitional government led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, involve a hybrid system where 140 of 210 seats are elected indirectly by electoral colleges, while 70 are appointed by al-Sharaa. Elections were postponed in Kurdish and Druze-controlled areas for security reasons.
