Why do vultures circle in the sky?
short by Saurav Joshi / on 27 Nov 2025,Thursday
Vultures are often seen as an ominous sign of death, circling above the ground; however, it's not true, as they circle in the sky to conserve energy and locate food. Vultures ride on thermals, rising columns of warm air caused by uneven heating of Earth's surface, to gain heights without wasting energy. They also circle to signal to other vultures.
