Reacting to debutant Nitish Kumar Reddy's 41(59) in India's first innings in the first Test against Australia, ex-Australia wicketkeeper-batter Adam Gilchrist said Nitish "looked every inch a Test match cricketer". "He came in with wickets tumbling...had to try and forge a partnership...He was positive against Nathan Lyon," Gilchrist added. The all-rounder came out to bat when India were 73-6.
