Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina’s has said that a coup was underway in the country. His statement comes after members of an elite army unit joined youth-led protests against the government and called for Rajoelina to step down. Madagascar, which has had several leaders removed in coups, is seeing protests led by a group calling itself 'Gen Z Madagascar'.
