The NCP faction led by Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar performed better than his uncle Sharad Pawar's faction NCP (SP) in most of the seats where both parties had a direct fight. They were engaged in a direct fight in 43 seats and Ajit's NCP took a lead in 29 seats, Indian Express reported. Ajit also led in Baramati.
