CJI BR Gavai said one of the judges in collegium had "some reservations" when his name was recommended in 2019 for elevation to the Supreme Court. "Last six years, I kept this as a secret," he stated. CJI Gavai added the judge felt there may be unrest among some senior lawyers in Mumbai if he is elevated to Supreme Court.
