State-owned BSNL surpassed Bharti Airtel in new mobile customer additions in August, while Reliance Jio continued to lead the chart, according to telecom regulator TRAI's data. Reliance Jio added over 19 lakh new customers in August, followed by BSNL (13.85 lakh new customers), and Airtel added 4.96 lakh. Telephone subscribers in India increased to 1224.54 million in August.
