The government has approved the PAN 2.0 project and it'll cost ₹1,435 crore. The Centre aims to bring a tech-driven transformation for taxpayer registration. The new system will work on ease of access, speedy service delivery, a single portal and robust cybersecurity measures. It will also work on a "common business identifier", linking PAN, TAN and TIN.
