A recent study suggested that mRNA COVID-19 vaccines may extend lives of cancer patients by boosting the effectiveness of immunotherapy. An analysis of over 1000 advanced skin and lung cancer patients showed those who were given vaccine within 100 days of starting immune checkpoint therapy were twice as likely to be alive three years after treatment compared to unvaccinated patients.
