A Pune-based clothing designer was defrauded of ₹55 lakh by a cyber criminal posing as a "cruise ship officer" who proposed marriage. The fraudster gained the victim's trust through daily communication and fabricated stories, even involving an accomplice posing as his mother. He then manipulated her into transferring funds to various accounts under the guise of machinery shipments.
