Apple has announced that Indian-origin AI researcher Amar Subramanya has been named as its new Vice President (VP) of AI. This comes as John Giannandrea, Apple's senior VP for Machine Learning and AI Strategy, steps down from his post and will now serve in an advisory role till his retirement. Subramanya last worked as Corporate VP of AI at Microsoft.
