US President Donald Trump and Australian PM Anthony Albanese signed a critical minerals agreement which is aimed to counter China. The two countries will each invest $1 billion over next six months into mining and processing projects. China, which has world's largest rare earth reserves, recently took steps to restrict access to rare earth supplies in response to US tariffs.
