A group of 10 trade unions have called for a nationwide protest on Wednesday against labour codes. Among the issues raised by the unions are permission for firms with up to 299 employees to lay off staff without government approval and a mandatory 60-day notice for workers to go on strike. "How can this be pro-worker?" a union member asked.
