Union Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India will introduce digital cryptocurrency, which will be backed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) like normal currency. He added that it will be like the "stablecoins" announced in the US. "It'll...reduce paper consumption and...be faster to transact than the banking system. But it'll also have traceability," he added.
