Some people sneeze when exposed to sunlight due to the photic sneeze reflex, also known as ACHOO syndrome. As per a prevalent theory, it occurs when bright light triggers crossed neurological signals between the optic nerve, which controls pupil constriction, and the trigeminal nerve, which senses facial sensations like an itchy nose. The syndrome is said to be genetic.
