Navi Mumbai International Airport will launch commercial operations on December 25, with IndiGo and Akasa Air already opening bookings. While Akasa Air's inaugural flight will operate from Delhi to Navi Mumbai, IndiGo also has a flight planned along the same route. The airport, expected to ease Mumbai's air traffic load, was formally inaugurated on October 8 by PM Narendra Modi.
