Actress Kasthuri Shankar was on Saturday arrested in Hyderabad for her alleged offensive comments against Telugu-speaking people in Tamil Nadu. Earlier, Madurai bench of Madras High Court, dismissing the actress' anticipatory bail petition, said the statement "hovers around hate speech". The court also ruled her apology "not genuine" and said she only attempted to justify her speech.
