Ex-Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina alleged that the speed with which Nobel-laureate Muhammad Yunus took power after her departure from Dhaka, indicates that her ouster was not spontaneous but the result of a planned power shift. "Yunus had been preparing to seize power, or those who installed him had," she said. Hasina accused Yunus of placing "radical extremists in his cabinet".
