Gastroenterologist Dr Saurabh Sethi said one should walk for at least 10 minutes after eating a meal. He explained that walking post-meal signals the muscles to pull glucose from the blood without needing as much insulin. It also reduces gas retention, improves gut motility, keeps food moving, and lowers acid exposure, which helps in reducing heartburn after dinner.
