Pune railway division made ₹62.7 crore from cancelled tickets in last financial year. This is a ₹12 crore increase from the previous year's ₹50.48 crore. Pune railway division spokesperson, Hemant Kumar Behera said cancellation fees depend on ticket class and timing. Chairperson of Railway Passengers’ Group, Harsha Shah criticised policy, stating railways are "practically looting passengers."
