Female employees can now include their parents-in-law as dependants in the definition of family under the new labour codes. The new codes also legally prohibit gender discrimination at workplaces and guarantee equal pay for equal work. It also permits women to work night shifts and in all types of work subject to their consent and mandatory safety measures.
