In a letter dated 1704, scientist Sir Isaac Newton predicted the world would end in 2060. The physicist based his doomsday prophecy on his Protestant interpretation of Bible and events that followed biblical history, specifically, the Battle of Armageddon. He used the days numbered 1260, 1290 and 2300 in the Book of Daniel and Revelations to arrive at the year.
