The Budget announced a 5-year cotton mission to boost sustainable cotton farming and promote extra-long-staple cotton varieties. The Budget added two more types of shuttle-less looms to the fully exempted textile machinery list. The basic customs duty on certain knitted fabrics was also revised from 10% or 20% to 20% or 115 per kg, whichever is higher.
