RBI has announced final redemption of Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) under 2017-18 Series-VIII, issued in November 2017. The redemption has been permitted on November 20, 2025, and the price has been fixed at ₹12,300 per unit, which is a 317% gain over issue price of ₹2,951/gram. The government introduced the Sovereign Gold Bond (SGB) in November 2015.
